Cosmic Sciences was first published in 2006 by Poseidon Books, Queensland. It was released in April 2007. The book was reprinted with a new cover by Bluestar Print, Canberra, in 2009 and again in 2012. It was published in electronic format in 2013 with the new cover. The book was revised as at February 2019 and again in April 2021 and printed By Create and Print in Canberra, Australia. The revised edition remains, essentially, a basic textbook in each of the three disciplines – Numerology, Astrology and Hand Analysis. It provides a technical description of each of these subjects and can be used as a practical guide to understand and apply the knowledge of these three disciplines. All three disciplines are ‘cosmic’ in nature and embody the notion of the wider Universe. For this reason, I used and continue to use the term, ‘Cosmic Sciences’ to describe my understanding of the way these subjects relate to the Universe. In my view, these subjects give clues as to the meaning of one’s existence and gave credence to the notion that life is a beautifully organised dynamic; that things do not happen just at random but as part of a grander plan for us all. This is in fact a central thesis of metaphysics as expounded by famous New Age authors such as Deepak Chopra. He expores the interconnectedness of all things and it is interesting that astrophysicist, Carl Sagan also expressed at the wonder of the universe and the way it is put together from a scientific perspective. His description of the Cosmos and the universe captures this same idea:
"Cosmos is a Greek word for the order of the universe. It is, in a way, the opposite of Chaos. It implies the deep interconnectedness of all things. It conveys awe for the intricate and subtle way in which the universe is put together".
The purpose of the original book was to help the reader avoid life’s pitfalls and to better negotiate the major life events. This revised edition goes much further and provides more in depth coverage of these subjects. The revised book also reflects my years of teaching at the University of the Third Age in Canberra. Some of the chapters have been renamed and there are some new case studies. This book also replaces a special edition for students printed in 2019. This new edition includes reference to the astrological changes starting with the settling of Uranus into Taurus in March 2019 for a seven year stay and the great conjunction of Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn on 12th January 2020 - the first since 1518. The year 2020 also heralded the long awaited Age of Aquarius with the uniting of Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius on the Equinox -the 21st December 2020. This revised version includes a special study at Appendix F: COVID 19 – AN ASTROLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE OF THE EVENTS OF 2020 AND THE BEGINNING OF THE AGE OF AQUARIUS.
